Choosing courses and books

Choosing a programme to suit the role and production needs.

11 answers
Can I ask about several courses and books in one message?

Yes. Select any courses, Executive and books. You can use the “Select all 9 parts” button, then adjust your selection. All items will be included in one enquiry; please also specify the number of participants and language in your message.

Are these courses suitable for new operators and experienced employees?

Yes. We recommend that new operators start with Part 1 on blown film production, then build their knowledge of raw materials and line construction. Experienced employees can select the parts relevant to their responsibilities and the problems encountered at their plant. You do not need to buy the whole series.

How does Part 9 differ from the Executive programme?

Part 9 connects daily production decisions with costs: raw materials, thickness, waste, energy and downtime. Executive is intended for those responsible for the plant's financial performance. It covers a broader management perspective, KPIs, EBITDA, investment assessment and an action plan. You can enquire about both programmes for different people in your company.

Does one purchase allow us to train all our employees?

Please specify the number of participants and selected parts in your enquiry. We will confirm the number of licences, conditions for using the materials and company licensing terms. If you plan to watch materials together, deliver internal training or use them across several shifts, please describe this before purchasing. Do not assume that a single licence covers the entire plant.

Will a course help solve a specific problem on our line?

Please describe the symptom, film and raw material types, and the issue you would like to discuss. We will help you choose a course or determine whether a separate consultation is needed. Analysing a specific line requires information about the machine, settings and operating conditions.

If preparing the course requires photographs, recordings or plant documentation, we sign an NDA, a non-disclosure agreement, in advance.

We also offer separate, paid technical consulting. The scope of services and contact details for process analysis are available on the Rolbatch Engineering website.

Does the form immediately send a message and place an order?

Select courses and books, enter your contact details and email address, then click “Send inquiry”. After the anti-spam check, click “Send now”. The form sends one message to the person shown, with a copy to the Rolbatch office. You do not need to open an email application.

Simply selecting items does not send a message. An enquiry is not an order. We will first confirm the offer and delivery terms. You can also copy the message or send it via WhatsApp.

Where can I download a free book excerpt?

Available books have a “Download a free book excerpt” link. It opens the Payhip page in a new tab. You can also select the book in the combined enquiry and request the link. The free excerpt lets you see how the publication is presented before buying.

How can I request notification of a book's second print edition?

Select the notification request next to “HR in Plastics Processing Plants” or “Film Production Without Chaos”. You can choose one or both books by Dr Magdalena Laabs. Then enter your email address and send an enquiry using the form. Both second print editions are in preparation; the notification relates only to the selected title. Consent to general Rolbatch updates is a separate field.

How do courses for film manufacturers differ from general extrusion courses?

Our offer includes “Extrusion, Part 1” for beginners and “Extrusion, Part 2” for intermediate learners.

Parts 1-9 presented on this page form a separate specialist series for blown film production plants. It covers raw materials, line construction, process operation, troubleshooting, multilayer technologies, the use of regranulate and production costs.

Which courses should we choose if we have film quality problems?

For film bubble instability, uneven thickness, surface defects or winding problems, take a look at Part 4 on optimisation and troubleshooting.

If difficulties occur after changing the raw material or formulation, Part 2 will also be useful. Please briefly describe the problem in your enquiry. We will help you choose suitable training.

Do the courses cover multilayer films and production using regranulate?

Yes. Part 7 covers multilayer technologies, the functions of individual layers and material selection. Part 8 covers film production using recycled raw materials and the recovery of in-house film waste.

If you need training on a specific film structure or the blend you use, please describe these requirements in your enquiry.

A Rolbatch Academy certificate documents participation in the programme, while a diploma confirms that the knowledge assessment requirements have been met. The document can be useful in a CV, employee development records and discussions with employers abroad.
